A New Holiday?! Ugly Sweater Day

savingPNGYou read that right officially Ugly Sweater day started at 9pm 12/15 and ended at 3am 12/16. Interesting that it follows bar party time? At least that is what I hear from my younger cool friends (I am pretty sure we were home and I was knitting a blanket for Sidney for xmas- photo to come). But in the spirit of festiveness here is my take on a sweater card. Notice I didn’t say ugly!

It seems a lot of my cards were done in Whisper White cardstock this year so I am switching it up, the base is Very Vanilla. We wouldn’t want to play favorites after all. It is hard to tell in the photo but the fold is at the top so the sheet would be cut at the center of the 8 1/2 side of the cards stock or at 4 1/4 inches. Fold from top down and crease with a bone folder. Add a layer of the great plaids from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper.

Cut a piece of Very Vanilla 2 1/2 by 5 1/4 and WET emboss with the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impression Folder. By wet emboss I mean lightly spritz/mist your cardstock with water prior to embossing to get the clearest impression (hmm this could be a video tip in the future).

While that dries we will use the Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut an oval Cherry Cobbler Cardstock piece and an oval Very Vanilla Cardstock piece that has been stamped in Cherry Cobbler with the sentiment from the Flourish Filigree stamp set.  Make a bow with the 1/4″ Cherry Cobbler Double Stitched Ribbon.

To assemble use snail adhesive to the back of the Cable Sweater piece, dimensionals to the Cherry Cobbler oval, snail to the Very Vanilla Oval and a glue dot for the bow.
