Birthday, Handmade Cards, Holiday Themed, Summer

It’s never too late to CELEBRATE!

Hello friends, hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating independence! We were at the campground (of course) and the fireworks were amazing (as usual) that I was so inspired to make a card that captured that same feeling… or in this case not with out a few fails first!  Personally, I would keep you in suspense to see the final version that is worth posting but social media likes to use only the first picture. So first up, the winner!

Clean, simple and SPARKLY. Can’t see the sparkle? Look closer- the photos do not do the new Shimmer White Embossing Powder justice. Those few flashes my camer caught are really all over the whole image.

I will get to how to make the card in a bit but version 1…. Bokeh dots background. Opps, it is way too light, when was the last time I inked this Night of Navy pad??!!

Version 2 much better on the ink but then the stamp just gets lost in the image but an idea has just popped into my head. Color is good, dandelion is good but is it really fireworks like? NOPE!

Ok so the card doesn’t really pop like originally intended but that doesn’t mean the card isn’t perfect the way it is. Take a second look and follow below to see how it was made.

Step 1: Fold a 1/2 sheet of Night of Navy and burnish with a bone folder. Cut a piece of Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4 and adhere to the inside with snail.

Step 2: Rub the Embossing Buddy on the card front to prevent unwanted powder stickage (that must be a real word right?).

Step 3: Ink the Dandelion from Dandelion Wishes stamp set in Versamark Ink and stamp to the right of the card. Cover with Shimmer White Embossing Powder.

Step 4: Ink the sentiment from Beautiful You stamp set in Versamark Ink and stamp to the left of the dandelion image. Cover with White Embossing Powder (or use the Shimmer White- the more sparkle the better).

Step 5: Give to someone great!
