Why I love Free as a Bird- Part 2

With the Free as a Bird Stamp set being my give away this month you must see why I love it! Did you miss part 1? See it here.

This card was not a “winner” in my last card challenge with Linda Bauwin but it was my personal favorite of all the ones I turned in. Check see the challenge winner here and check back to see the final entry.

Step 1: Fold a 1/2 sheet (5 1/2 x 8 1/2) of Smoky Slate and burnish with a bone folder.

Step 2: Cut a piece of Seaside Spray to 5 1/4 x 4 and stamp with Handwritten in Basic Gray (or Smoky Slate). I used Basic Gray since we will use it for the other images.

Step 3: Stamp all the images on Water Color Paper in Basic Gray. Water color images using an Aqua Painter and the following ink pads: So Saffron, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and Sea Side Spray. Cut out the images using dies/die cutting machine or Paper Snips.

Step 4: Make the shimmer spray using household rubbing alcohol and Shimmer Paint in Frost White. Mix to desired shimmer in a Stampin Spritzer. Spritz the flowers only. Once dry use a Journaling Pen (or Stampin’ Write Marker) to darken the stamen of the flowers.

Step 5:  Wrap two strands of Scalloped Lace Trim around the Seaside Spray cardstock and adhere at the back with Snail. Adhere Seaside Spray piece to Smoky Slate card base with Snail. Layer flowers, leaves and bird as desired with Snail and Stampin Dimensionals to the Seaside Spray layer. Don’t forget the Rhinestone Basic Jewels for added bling.

Step 6: Give to someone great!
