I was so incredibly lucky to get a hold of the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper as a part of a creative challenge. Here is the second card I submitted. Did you “miss” the 1st? Find it HERE as a part of the We Bee Stamping Blog Hop.
Isn’t this ombre butterfly designer series paper amazing?! The Just Jade “just” called to me so I trimmed it the have the most of that color range. I cut each layer out with the Stitched rectangle dies then attempted to line up the two smallest Stitched Nestled dies to be able to fit my butterfly thru. I say attempted because eventhough my butterfly went thru I lined up the wrong edge line of the die and the paper is off set. Did you notice? Hopefully not but if you did remember sometimes the beauty is in the imperfection. Well at least that is what I tell myself.
The butterflies were made with gold embossing powder and colored with the Stampin’ Blends markers. For the record, I will never use another marker other than alcohol markers again! Punch out the finished product and adhere. I used the Tombow multipurpose glue on all the layers so I could adjust them as needed.
I forgot how much I like the Well Written dies, thankfully they are a perfect reminder on this card. To make the cardstock shadow trace the outside outline of the die and fussy cut. Add the Butterfly Gems and the outside is done.
The only tricky part of the card was lining up the butterfly. Once you have that done your can add your sentiment and the accent butterfly and the inside is done too.
